What to Look for in an Outdoor Pull-Out Couch with Chaise
Before you buy, consider these key factors to ensure you get the best couch for your needs.
- Frame Material: Powder‑coated aluminum or rust‑resistant steel offer durability. For a natural look, choose teak or eucalyptus – both stand up to the elements.
- Upholstery: Solution‑dyed acrylic or polyester blends resist fading and mildew. Look for removable, washable covers for easy maintenance.
- Pull-Out Mechanism: A smooth, easy‑to‑operate system is essential. Test the bed mechanism if possible; it should glide out without much effort.
- Chaise Orientation: Decide if you want the chaise on the left or right side to match your layout.
- Size & Scale: Measure your space! Most units are 70–90″ wide and 35–40″ deep when closed. The bed typically extends to 55–60″ wide when open.
Most high‑quality models range from $1,200–$2,800, depending on materials and brand. Premium weather‑proof fabrics and all‑weather wicker can push prices higher.
Comfort & Style – What Sets Them Apart
A couch with pull out bed and chaise isn’t just a practical piece – it’s a statement. The chaise invites you to kick back with a book or enjoy a sunset cocktail, while the pull‑out bed ensures you’re always ready for impromptu sleepovers. Many models feature plush, high‑density foam cushions that hold their shape, and some even come with built‑in storage for pillows and blankets.
If you love modular designs, consider a l-shaped couch that turns into bed for even more seating. Alternatively, a corner couch that turns into a bed can maximize your patio’s footprint. For smaller spaces, a 2-piece sectional with pull out bed offers similar functionality in a compact package.
Where to Place Your Pull-Out Couch with Chaise
Location matters. Place your couch on a covered patio to protect it from direct rain, or use a waterproof cover when not in use. If your deck is uncovered, choose a model with UV‑resistant fabric and a rust‑proof frame. Pair it with an outdoor rug to define the lounge area, and add a patio umbrella that won't blow over for shade during daytime relaxation.
For a cohesive look, complete the space with a round patio table and chairs for 4 or a high top bistro table and 2 chairs for casual dining. The chaise side of the couch works beautifully as a reading nook or a spot to enjoy morning coffee.
Caring for Your Outdoor Sleeper Couch
Proper maintenance extends the life of your investment. Regularly brush off debris and spot‑clean spills immediately. For deep cleaning, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush. Always check the care label; many covers are machine‑washable. During harsh winter months, store your cushions indoors or use a breathable cover. If you live in a coastal area, rinse the frame periodically to remove salt residue.
Also consider protective accessories like a outdoor patio seat cushions 24 x 24 for extra comfort, or a patio umbrella base for 2 inch pole to keep shade structures stable.
